Adriane Shultz Executive Director

Professional Background
Adriane has worked in the human services field for more than 30 years, including over 16 years focused specifically on substance use disorder treatment. She began her career at Colonial House as a part-time Behavioral Health Technician and has grown within the organization over the years, advancing through multiple roles before becoming Executive Director in 2018. Adriane left Colonial House to obtain further professional and clinical experience as a mental health therapist in 2020. She then returned to Colonial House as the Executive Director in 2024.
Approach to Her Work
Adriane earned her Master of Social Work from Temple University with a macro focus and additional training in nonprofit management and strength-based leadership. She is also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. Her work is guided by a commitment to trauma-informed care, collaboration, and building systems that support accessible and effective treatment.

Adriane is passionate about advocacy, organizational growth, and working with teams to develop programming that is accessible and exemplary regardless of a person’s resources.

Jennifer Lloyd Director of Operations & Human Resources
Credentials: aPHR (Associate Professional in Human Resources)
Professional Background
Jennifer joined Colonial House in 2019 as an Outpatient Counselor, bringing dedication and compassion to the clients she served. She later held the role of Outpatient Services Supervisor before transitioning into her current leadership position as Operations and Human Resources Director. Jennifer earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Vermont in 2005 and further expanded her professional expertise by earning her Human Resources Certification (aPHR) in 2023. She brings more than 20 years of experience in the human services field.

Jennifer values being part of an organization that is deeply connected to the community and committed to individualized, client-centered care. Drawing from both professional and personal experience with the disease of addiction, she approaches her work with authenticity, humility, and gratitude.

Jennifer is passionate about supporting staff, clients, and the organization as a whole. In her role, she focuses on fostering growth, unity, and opportunities for empowerment throughout the Colonial House community.

Lisa Gladfelter Director of Finance
Professional Background
Lisa brings many years of experience in the finance field and has worked in the substance use disorder treatment field for the past two and a half years, all with Colonial House.
Approach to Her Work
Her work is informed by extensive experience in finance and leadership, along with a strong understanding of organizational financial health. Lisa brings a thoughtful and creative mindset to financial planning to ensure resources are used responsibly and in ways that support the organization’s mission. Through ongoing education and training, she continues to strengthen her understanding of the treatment field.
What She Enjoys Most
Lisa enjoys problem solving and maintaining strong ethical standards in financial operations. She finds fulfillment in helping build a solid financial foundation that allows Colonial House to continue serving individuals and communities for years to come.
Fun Fact
Before entering the treatment field, Lisa spent much of her career working in the agricultural industry. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and exploring new experiences with her family.
Autherine Shaw Director of Outpatient Programs
Credentials: Master of Human Services
Professional Background
Autherine has worked in the field of addiction recovery since 1995. This is her second time working with Colonial House Outpatient Services, where she has served in several roles including clinician, contractor, and now Director of Outpatient Programs.
Approach to Her Work
She holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a graduate degree in Human Services with a focus on multidisciplinary collaboration. Autherine has worked across multiple levels of care throughout her career, giving her a broad understanding of addiction treatment and recovery support.
What She Enjoys Most
Autherine appreciates the variety that each day brings. She values flexibility in the work and believes it is important to extend grace to both others and yourself throughout the recovery process.

Jodi Schmidt Inpatient Clinical Supervisor
Credentials: CADC, CCJP, CCDP
Professional Background
Jodi has worked in the substance use disorder treatment field for over 35 years, beginning her career in 1990. She joined Colonial House as a counselor in 2017 and was promoted to Inpatient Clinical Supervisor in 2021.
Approach to Her Work
Jodi holds multiple certifications through the Pennsylvania Certification Board and brings extensive experience working with criminal justice populations, including 16 years in a Department of Corrections facility. Her background includes work in outpatient treatment, correctional programming, and medication-assisted treatment settings, along with experience in grant writing and program development. She has strong training in trauma-informed care, de-escalation, and strength-based leadership.
What She Enjoys Most
Jodi values the opportunity to support both counselors and clients simultaneously. She enjoys mentoring staff, strengthening clinical skills, and helping teams build strong therapeutic relationships while delivering high-quality, ethical care.

Jessica Dunkins Quality Assurance Manager
Credentials: Associate Degree in Business Management

Jessica has worked in the behavioral health field since 2018 and has been a member of the Colonial House team for over three years. She was drawn to this work through a genuine passion for helping people and supporting them as they work toward meaningful change in their lives.

Jessica’s work is shaped by daily interactions with both clients and staff, as well as trauma-informed care training that guides how she approaches quality improvement and program support. She values understanding the deeper context behind challenges and ensuring systems are in place to support effective care.
What She Enjoys Most
Jessica enjoys exploring the “why” behind situations and identifying root causes that impact both staff and clients. She believes that strong policies and clear procedures create stability, reduce chaos, and allow both clients and staff to thrive.

Jessica loves cooking for others—but has no desire to eat any of it herself.
Courtney Gaskins Inpatient Clinical Coordinator
Credentials: CAAC
Professional Background
Courtney began her work in the behavioral health field with Colonial House in 2005. After working with the organization through 2006, she expanded her experience before returning in 2011 and remaining until 2021. She rejoined the Colonial House team again in 2024.
Approach to Her Work
Courtney believes that some of the most valuable learning happens through daily interaction with clients and collaboration with colleagues. These experiences continue to shape her approach to supporting individuals throughout their recovery process.
What She Enjoys Most
Courtney finds fulfillment in being part of the recovery journey and watching clients discover strengths and possibilities within themselves that they may not have recognized before.
